My computer just showed nothing but a cursor on a black screen when starting up. This has only occurred twice so far, though it remains unsettling to consider.
I understand what people might be wondering; typically this issue arises after logging in, but here it happens beforehand.
Occasionally I noticed the "Enter PIN" text next to the icon, but that was all.
I've tested the Start, Control, Shift and B shortcut which refreshes graphics, but it didn't help.
CTRL-ALT-DEL didn't resolve the problem either; putting it into sleep mode also failed.
The only solution I found was a hard reset.
It's not likely to happen often, but given how Windows 11 behaves—especially with its latest updates—it seems to change unpredictably (as brutalmoose would say). This has happened twice again, just like I mentioned.
Do you have any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening again?
