He mentioned his CPU temperatures during gaming are around 60°C or similar for the GPU, which is quite good. But I said the same in my previous post. Look at those heat sinks... the SSD ones also have that blue film that needs to be taken off. CPU heat sinks differ too—some come with paste inside a big plastic box. It’s hard not to notice it, especially when mounting something with that on it. There’s a chance some plastic was left behind somewhere, which is easy to overlook. It could be a small oversight if he bought it ready-made, but mistakes happen.

I confirmed it was in the post, but I might have mixed it up with another thread! Sorry about that.
Yes - I understand now, he should review the temperatures, right? I still believe it’s more likely a film or plastic was left behind, though who knows for sure.

I verified using the flashlight and didn’t see any smoke.
It might have been excessive, but I invested in this PSU for future upgrades; the secondary GPU was meant for PhysX since I still play some games with it, but because the Physx support for the games I use has been reinstated, I’m planning to sell it.
Thanks, I’ll consider it.
There’s a removable metal frame covering the PSU, and there’s minimal dust underneath. I usually dust the case before starting this PC because of the smell and odd sensation. I did notice a plastic band around one of the SATA cables (just labeled Sata 3 and the brand name). The PCIe slot on the 3050 isn’t activated yet, but I’ll test it again without it to confirm.
I also observed a strange feeling and an unusual smell while dusting the GPU’s watercooling.
I haven’t changed the screen yet, but I often use 4K settings in-game with the option in the NVIDIA control panel.
I’m not entirely confident about any inconsistencies between the Lian-Li software, the OCCT monitoring, and the support documentation provided for testing. Sometimes there’s a temperature difference of around 10°C between Lian-Li and OCCT, which can range from 40°C to 60°C in-game (I haven’t checked with an afterburner yet).
During the 3-hour OCCT test, the minimum was about 40°C, average 66°C, and maximum 85°C. I also ran a platinum certificate; although I didn’t save it, the results were similar if I recall correctly—maximum possibly higher but not exceeding 91°C. The watercooling is set to 100% for both pumps and fans, and EXPO is active.
Honestly, I’m unsure about the airflow in the case because I have 8 fans at the front, 2 at the back plus two watercooling units, and I tested them all running at full speed. The temperatures were roughly consistent, though slightly higher than when the case’s fans were on auto-mode.
I considered the association PC on being associated with a bad smell and unusual sensations in my lungs or cough, but it also happens after leaving the room. During a 12-hour OCCT test, I entered a room for a few minutes without a mask to check things, and while it was fine, I felt odd when I returned to the living room.
Someone asked me to smell it, and they said it smelled like something recently bought—though I should ask a few more people for confirmation.
My friend joked, “That’s the smell of cancer” (lol).
In short, upon a quick inspection, there doesn’t seem to be any plastic residue on the GPUs or motherboard. I’ll try to inspect more thoroughly.
