Hardware update in Rainbow 6 Siege may cause screen tearing issues.
Following a significant hardware upgrade (motherboard, CPU, RAM) I'm experiencing screen tearing in Rainbow 6 Siege. This wasn't an issue before the change. I can play the game smoothly on an i7 with a GTX 1080, maintaining a steady 144FPS on my 144Hz monitor, yet even with VSYNC enabled, tearing persists. All drivers are up to date; I'm unsure what's causing this problem.
Have you adjusted the display refresh speed? The system resets it to 60 following any driver modifications.
I used drivers from the installation disc that came with my motherboard and via Nvidia GeForce Experience. I'm running Windows 10.
Uncertain, likely installed faulty drivers or something similar.
Sometimes the drivers that come with the disk are buggy/out of date. Other times I hear it’s a conflict of drivers as they both might try to run at the same time. Not sure about the second thing, I forget if that’s what EVGA said or not.
Use the most recent software from the official source rather than an old disk driver.
