I have a setup with a Ryzen 3600, a B450M/AC ASRock board, 3070, and a 650W power supply that was functioning properly. I bought a refurbished MSI MGP550 Edge motherboard and a new Ryzen 5600X as an upgrade. The box had a label indicating the system was ready for the Ryzen 5000 series, so I thought it didn’t need a BIOS update. However, after installing the new CPU and board, the system froze completely—no fans spinning on any component, including the power supply. When I swapped the 5600X back to the original board, the issue persisted, and even reverting everything failed. Any advice? It feels too random for the power supply to fail like this. It seems the issue might be related to the power supply itself. Since you've already tried it without success, switching to a different one could help. It's possible it was just a coincidence, but testing another supply is a safer approach.
I shouldn't be too concerned about the board cutting off your power supply. Just avoid plugging it in again until you can run more tests with a different unit. Don't want to damage any valuable parts—this seems like a random occurrence.
