I recently upgraded my PC and everything worked fine for a while, but today after installing the new GPU it started acting up—even after reinstalling Windows. Here are my details: i5 13600K Deepcool AK620 MSI RTX 4070 Ventus 3x E OC 32GB DDR5 Corsair LPX 7200MHZ CL34 MSI Z790 Gaming Pro Wi-Fi NZXT C750 PSU (drives and case not listed). The problems began today with Windows event logs mentioning issues related to the built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which was strange since a BOSD had just reported an IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error. I thought the drivers were clashing with the dongle I’d been using recently. After a clean Windows install, I tried playing Stellaris and after 25 minutes the game displayed a BOSD warning about a Kernel Mode Trap, which online sources suggest relates to RAM. I’m currently running a Windows RAM Diagnostic and have saved up for these upgrades over several months of work. I’m hoping for a practical fix—any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I’d start by considering the RAM. Have you tried running MemTest86? Many users face problems with Corsair RAM recently, so swapping it for another brand might help.
Hey there, this was a long time since I last posted. If anyone sees this thread again, just know I fixed it. I cut my RAM down to 6400 CL32 and most of the problems disappeared.
