Hard Drive Symbols shift to the right area
When you open the "This PC" folder, you’ll notice all connected hard drives displayed with icons and bars showing their sizes. Over the past year or so, especially on Windows 10, these icons have shifted slightly to the right, creating empty space on the left. This change appears on many systems using the latest Windows version. However, Windows Server 2016 still follows the older layout. I don’t have a specific article, but you might find guidance in forums or official documentation about restoring the previous style. Some screenshots show the new, compact format as intended for clarity and space efficiency.
In reality, everything appears misaligned upon closer inspection. Microsoft added a new OneDrive icon status to Windows 10 to indicate whether a file is offline (and will download on double-click), downloaded, or syncing. This change has altered the situation entirely. It should remain exclusive to the OneDrive folder, yet it doesn’t. Non-OneDrive files are missing entirely, just empty space. Microsoft hasn’t resolved this issue, even after updating through the Insider program and receiving the latest version.
