Last night I played some games and then went to sleep. When I woke up, my computer asked me to reboot and pick a proper boot device. I tried unplugging everything, swapping the cable, and felt the hard drive spinning. I checked the BIOS, and it said the drive was detected but it won’t boot into Windows. I’m not sure what to do next.

Add the Windows installation disc and perform a repair installation. It’s possible you received an incorrect update or experienced an issue when the system powered off.

BIOS loads first before any from HDD/SSD/DVD/USB. It only confirms whether the drive is detected (with A/JA power on) or not. Linux could help verify readability, but it looks like a corrupted Windows setup, maybe from an update.
