I think there might be an issue with some hidden or cached Windows files or drivers interfering. Clearing the registry could help fix things. I’d consider reinstalling Windows if the problem persists.

I experienced some problems a few days later. I returned to a more experienced driver and everything returned to normal.

It sounds like you're interested in additional updates, operating system improvements, BIOS changes, or related software. Are there any specific tools you're considering?

Consider this guide before making major changes. Start by clearing everything it allows, then reinstall both older and latest drivers (make sure to exclude the AMD "raid" ones—they usually cause issues).

Same issues, no clear cause, lasting over a year. My 7900XT Sapphire Pulse sometimes runs smoothly for a month, then suddenly crashes under heavy use—certain loads seem to trigger it, while others don’t. I recall playing God of War and had no problems for half the game, followed by crashes after a few minutes and then freezes again. Performance varies with overclocking or stock settings. I’ve tried reseating components, reinstalling Windows, and even updated the graphics drivers. Usually, I wait until it crashes heavily before reseating, which often helps. It’s been a long struggle with this card, especially since it’s the first Radeon I’ve had in years. For reference, my system runs on an AMD 5700X3D with a B550 Tomahawk motherboard, 850W Riotoro Enigma power supply, and 32GB RAM.

It could be that the disk has some corruption, which is why chkdisk comes up. If the power supply is getting older, it might not deliver full power and could face temporary voltage issues. Could you use furmark to test the system? Have you used a Linux live USB before?

However, the signs don't suggest a disk or power supply problem, but instead point to a graphics driver issue—game crashes occur even when the disk isn't being utilized.

If identical drivers performed the same tasks, it suggests the issue lies with hardware rather than software. But you're right to question that.

That might be feasible, though I'm still a bit confused.

It seems you're experiencing issues with your 7900XTX card when using certain display outputs. I've noticed some users face similar problems with different ports, possibly related to BIOS settings. The latest WHQL drivers appear to be working well for you, but older versions sometimes caused crashes during professional tasks.
