Hello, welcome! I just broke my USB 3.0 front ports and am having trouble getting the cable out from the motherboard (Asrock B450 Steel Legend). I’m wondering if leaving any part of the USB 3.0 cable inside will cause more damage. Would this only affect how usable the ports are for me?

It should be possible to remove it and obtain a replacement cable from whoever created your issue. You’ll likely need a solid tool to get the plastic off and pull the board out, starting at the slot and working your way up.

since the cable failed rather than the ports, you could likely swap just that cable. before doing so, turn off the power to the computer and use needle-nose pliers to detach the old cable end from the motherboard. this process is straightforward once safety precautions are followed. in some cases, depending on the manufacturer, replacing the entire panel might also be necessary.
