I’m planning to upgrade to an 8700k and a GTX 1080ti soon, aiming to get the most performance out of them. I’ll apply liquid metal between the GPU and Kraken X62, but I want a solid paste instead of any dripping. The 8700k will be delidded and the paste should sit directly on the die and heatsink interface for optimal thermal contact.

I recently purchased an IC diamond and had to swap out the fans and TIM on one of my graphics cards. It looks like a decent TIM. I used Gelid Extreme before, which worked well. I haven't tried Grizzly yet, so I don't have much experience. I'm not sure if any are really hard to install properly. Still, correct installation is at least as crucial as the material itself. Oh, and the age of the TIM also plays a role.

Grizzly thermal paste users confidently report their results, stating they achieve element temperatures with their 7740x at 5.3 ghz using an H100i v2.
