Hey Guys,
I just finished setting up my build on pcpartpicker and noticed the Cryorig H7 might not be suitable for overclocking the i7 7700k.
Build Link: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/gBxhwV
Could you let me know which cooler would work better if it isn't capable of overclocking?
Thanks

it comes down to the silicone lottery
some 7700K models will overclock at lower voltages than others
with a cooler setup you might be able to achieve a mild overclock, though it won’t handle high temperatures well
when it comes to other coolers, the result depends on how much you want to boost the CPU

the outcome hinges on the silicone lottery
some 7700K models may run higher at lower voltages than others
with a cooler setup, a mild overclock seems possible, though not very intense
as for other coolers, it depends on how much you plan to boost the CPU
if I aim for a 5 Ghz clock speed, would that be sufficient?

Unless you obtain a very high-end 7700K, its typical behavior suggests it may find it difficult to maintain temperatures at 5ghz.
If you're keen on maximizing CPU performance through overclocking, consider an AIO 240mm water cooling system.
Or, since the 7700K comes with a solid base performance, you might try the Cryorig and test a light overclock.
