H610m line featuring an Intel Core i5-13500 Gen 13 chipset
I’m planning to assemble a PC over the next two weeks. I noticed some H610m boards support Gen 13 processors. I want to keep costs low, so I’m considering either the H610m series from ASUS or Colorful. Or should I go with the B760M Asus Pro WiFi board? Using two H610m boards would double the price, but it might affect my storage budget.
It seems you're suggesting a different direction for the discussion, possibly focusing on PC building instead. The original post mentions the H series board being too basic for high-end builds and implies considering older generations or alternatives.
H610 works with any 13th generation chip via a suitable BIOS update, though this isn't assured. It's also the most affordable option, but usually offers inferior power delivery. For better performance and reliability, consider a B760 or H770 paired with a solid heat sink.
Budget? Country? H610 is a waste for the reasons discussed earlier. Consider the b660/760 instead; you can lower your build costs by purchasing used items, especially used GPUs—miner GPUs versus gamer GPUs, affordable and well-maintained, not stuck in a hotbox or clogged with dust.
I'm from Indonesia, I created this machine for light tasks like a pixel game on Steam and possibly Euro Truck Simulator 2. My setup includes an I5 13500, non-F RAM, 16GB DDR4, 3600mhz/3200 MHz, either H610 or B760 motherboard, MSI A650BN Bronze 80+ 650W PSU, VGA between RTX 2060-070 and GTX 1080 Ti. I have all the GPU but sometimes rely on the internal one.
You might want to check if a similarly configured build exists in the entry-level computer. Since the Asus B760 Prime is priced near the upper end of the H610 lineup, it doesn’t seem worth the investment given the lack of memory overclocking and limited storage options. The 13,500W rating adds little value compared to what you could allocate elsewhere. PSU quality is decent, but a Leadex 3 Bronze Pro from Superflower offers comparable performance at a similar price in Indonesia—look for those if possible.
