Guide to boosting 13900KS performance
I’m aiming for a fairly modest boost on my KS. I prefer to increase the DDR5-8000 setup slightly more than usual, since that tends to give better performance in games. Currently, I’m stable across all preliminary tests at 56P/45E/45C. In BIOS I’m using 1.4v with an LLC4 setting and an AVX offset of -5. On Windows 11 I’m observing a peak voltage of 1.368 when idle and 1.137 during load testing for AVX2 Small. So far, games, Windows, and other runs haven’t shown any noticeable frequency changes. I’ve tried BF2042, D2R, and a few others to test, but none fluctuated below 5.1. The only variation appears during stress tests. My maximum core temperature stays around 80°C while running AVX2 Small. I’m not sure if I should stop pushing the overclock or try a different setting altogether. Would going up to 1.45–1.5v be necessary, which would raise temperatures even more? Am I compromising performance for the sake of stability? Could I be cheating? If AVX2 and AVX2 non-offset stable don’t really help my goals, should I consider it a failure? Hopefully someone can confirm what’s best!
Beyond 7200 on the latest 13th gen IMC isn't really worthwhile with Intel's IMC. The benefits don't justify the effort needed for consistent stability. This community isn't ideal for detailed RAM OC discussions; a more focused forum would be better. A YouTube channel like "actuallyhardcoreoverclocking" could be helpful if you haven't followed him yet. AVX2 workloads tend to be unreliable, and stability testing is necessary—often causing frustration when results start failing after just a few hours of testing.
