Your Windows is installed on a 120GB SSD, but when you remove the old 160GB HDD it fails to boot and prompts for a bootable USB, while the HDD works when plugged back in. To switch the boot manager without reinstalling Windows, you can use a bootable USB or CD to install a recovery environment and then follow the steps to change the boot settings.

Open your computer's BIOS settings and search for "BOOT ORDER." Simply relocate your SSD to the highest position in the list and you're ready to proceed.

It seems there could be an extra partition installed during setup, a tiny one that Windows needs. This often means you'll need to reinstall Windows.

boot manager is running on your old hard drive... erase the SSD, uninstall the installation, replace the HDD and reinstall. Note: I don't suggest setting up Windows 11 on drives under 500GB.

Disabling the HDD in the BIOS doesn't necessarily mean you need to unplug it entirely. It depends on your system configuration and whether the drive is still recognized by the BIOS settings.

Ensure the SATA port your HDD is connected to is disabled in the BIOS settings.
