I've been managing a small server for years without any issues. There was often lag during remote play, which I initially blamed on poor internet. After an upgrade, everything improved. Recently, I realized MC is pulling around 750Kbps per player. During further checks, I discovered that many players are raising chickens—thousands of them. Are there any mods available to restrict the number of NPCs or prevent natural breeding? Thanks, Judah
We’ve run several Minecraft servers with friends for more than six years. We’re familiar with around 100 plugins and have developed many of them. There are various NPC clearing plugin types, including "No lag" or similar options that can handle hostile and peaceful mobs. I think you can adjust how often you want them to run and how aggressively they clear enemies—like setting it to every hour. If you clear mobs too frequently, like every five minutes on some servers, it loses its appeal because players can’t enjoy the game. I just messaged my friend asking for additional plugins, and he suggested using "NoLagg" but reminded us to include BKcommonlib. Other than that, everything is manageable through the .config file, which follows the standard setup closely.
