I have an old hard drive and I need to move Windows files from it to an SSD. It’s only 60GB, so it won’t hold everything at once. I’m wondering if there’s a way to transfer just the Windows files without the rest. I’ve tried using the activation key from my PC and even my old Windows 7 laptop, but both gave me errors.

It's recommended to perform a fresh installation. 60gb should suffice for Windows. The laptop key and likely other components appear to be OEM. If the key isn't linked to a Microsoft account, you'll need a new one.
