Hey there, I'm just starting out with the computer game. My setup is pretty basic and needs a lot of improvements. I'm sure I can manage adding and removing parts myself. I recently purchased a new GPU – an ASUS GeForce GTX 750 Ti. It’s working but I’m not seeing any performance gains, so I’m thinking about overclocking to get the most out of it. Previously, I used a Gigabyte GTX 650 Ti. Honestly, my CPU and motherboard are the main bottlenecks. I’d really appreciate some advice – here are my specs:

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA780G-UD3H
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955
RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 401MHz (6-6-6-18)
Current Clock Speeds:
GPU Clock: 1071 MHz
Memory Clock: 2700 MHz
Shader Clock: 2700 MHz
Voltage: 0.962 V
Tech: 28 nm
Bus: PCI Express x16

I’m using an older DDR2 and really need a better motherboard. Thanks for any suggestions!

The GPU upgrade doesn't really make much of a difference. What's the desired overclock?
Howdy!
I'm planning to overclock the GPU because the performance with newer games is quite slow. I'm okay with lower settings, but I just want to boost my FPS. A bit more power to the GPU could help.
Consider a 1150 Core Clock and adjust gradually. If it becomes unstable, try increasing the voltage but stay under 1.1 (unless I'm that kind of person).

The GPU upgrade isn't that significant after all. What specific improvements are you aiming for?

Unfortunately, the 750ti wasn't a significant improvement compared to the previous 650ti. The main advantage was its reduced power consumption. A 1050 or 1050ti would have offered better performance.
