Hey everyone! I haven't played GTA5 in a while and got back to it today. It’s running much slower than before, especially the frames per second. My setup is an i5 4590 with 3.3GHz base and 3.7Gb turbo, paired with an MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G and 8GB DDR3 RAM at 1866Mhz. I'm using 1920x1080 resolution, 60Hz refresh, with the GPU overclocked to Core +170 and memory boosted to +250, fans set at 65%. The CPU temps are around 50-60°C. I’m not sure what’s causing the slowdown.

Consider turning off the GPU to see if your CPU struggles for power. This might be due to an underpowered PSU. It could also happen with low-wattage systems. Check for driver updates as well.

CPU consumption ranges from 40 to 70% while GPU utilization sits between 50 and 60%. The Nvidia driver has been updated from version 359.06 to 359.43.

I don't understand. Have you verified if the GPU is dusty?

It looks really tidy. I also have a fan at the bottom of the case that circulates fresh air to the GPU fans. Edit: the GPU is almost as clean as a brand-new one.

Performed a hard drive defragmentation. Fixed the issue and it now operates smoothly.
