Hello there, my factory didn't actually overclock the GTX 970 Strix. It has a core clock of 1113 MHz, not the 1253 MHz mentioned before. I can't adjust that by just overclocking it myself because it doesn't support changing core clocks in either CPU Tweaker or MSI Afterburner.

Thanks for letting me know this was my issue... it failed. I pushed my GPU to its limits in the best way possible, and suddenly my core clock spiked.
