Hello everyone! Thank you for your attention. I'm still a bit struggling here. My setup includes: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk AMD B550 So.AM4 Dual Channel DDR4 ATX (firmware uncertain, but installed and updated in January), AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6x 3.70GHz 850W Corsair RMx White Series RM850x Modular 80+ Gold with Crucial Ballistix BL16G36C16U4B.M16FE1, 16GB DDR4-3600 ASUS STRIX GTX 970 4GB 1TB, Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 220 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe (MZ-V7S1T0BW), some old 7200RPM HDD for storage, and a SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB. To set up Manjaro on my old SSD, I adjusted UEFI settings—disabling Secure Boot and CSM (“UEFI only”). Later, I attempted further tweaks but faced a major issue: the resolution was so low it was nearly unreadable. I’m not sure what I did wrong, but after installing Manjaro, the screen remained dark. I tried to fix it by changing GOP, Secure Boot, and UEFI settings, but ended up resetting everything. Right after, the PC froze completely, forcing a hard reset. Now it won’t boot at all, and both monitors stay black. The fans are spinning, but the GPU fan isn’t. The keyboard lights up on Num, Caps, Scroll, then only Num stays on. Sometimes the EZ Debug LEDs flash red after powering on, one by one, before turning off. The “BOOT” LED stays red too. Things I’ve tried so far: reset CMOS (by removing battery and using jumpers), removed all drives and SSDs, booted with just one RAM stick, plugged Manjaro SSD and GPU into another machine, tested other PCIe slots and monitors, but can’t test the rest. It’s possible GOP was enabled, or my GTX 970 BIOS isn’t updated for it. If that’s the case, flashing a newer BIOS might help reset UEFI. Could my power supply be faulty—maybe not enough power reaching the GPU? Or is it purely a UEFI problem? Thanks for your time. Let me know if you have more details. I've tried every possible solution and still can't get any help. I'm planning to reset the BIOS using the Flash BIOS button, but I don’t have any visual confirmation and don’t want to damage my motherboard. How long does this generally take? Should I let it sit for a while before turning it off, or will it finish on its own? It looks like a flashing light will appear during the process and turn off once done, as seen in some YouTube videos.
I handled it myself. The BIOS flash resolved all my problems. I was aiming to fix it without it, too, since it would have been an excellent learning opportunity. Still, alright. I got to enjoy taking apart and putting together two different systems, plus installing and using Manjaro on the older machine for a short time. Now it serves as my media PC in the bedroom. What I needed: just your PSU, motherboard, and a USB stick—no need to take out any parts if they’re already there. I downloaded the latest BIOS for my motherboard (MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk), formatted a 16GB USB drive to FAT32, unpacked the file and renamed it MSI.ROM (pay attention to the file type!). Placed it in the back of the motherboard, in the dedicated USB slot marked by a white rectangle around it near the FLASH BIOS button. With the PC off, I used a screwdriver to press the FLASH BIOS button. A flashing light appeared around the button and on the board. Wait for the light to stop. After restarting, the BIOS was completely reset (fresh install), and everything should function properly again. At least it worked for me! :]
