Hello, I own a GTX 1650 Super Gaming X Edition. The whole story is about what happened when massive power outages and load shedding occurred because of some new government rules. My PC was connected to the socket using the power button, but it didn’t turn on. It seems there might have been a power surge through the PCI slot, which happened at night with heavy rain. When I tried to start it in the morning, there was no display. The keyboard worked, but there was no GPU logo light, and the display plugged into Quadro. I checked the motherboard and saw the screen was on, but there were no issues reported online except a YouTube video about the Northway Bridge.

Later, a YouTuber mentioned testing a MOSFET, which I didn’t understand how to do. I had a multimeter but wasn’t sure how to check for short circuits. A professional suggested it might be a component short due to the surge. He told me to avoid fixing it unless necessary and asked me to pay around $71 for the part and $10 for repairs. That’s a lot of money for a cheap new unit.

Now I’m trying to figure out how to find the problem. The repair guy said my GPU was short-circuited, but he didn’t tell me which specific component was faulty. I want to locate that part so it’s affordable and fix it myself. I have a backup Quadro, which helps keep my PC running temporarily, but I’m unsure how long this will last.

I’ve taken precautions like using a voltage stabilizer to protect against surges. I’d like to know how to test MOSFETs on GPUs or how to fix them properly. If you have experience fixing similar issues, please share your process so I can follow along and get my PC working again. Thank you for reading—I’m here to help!
