Hello.
Here is my setup:
Processor: Intel® Core™i7 Six Core Processor i7-6800K (3.4GHz) 15MB Cache
Motherboard: ASUS® RAMPAGE V EXTREME/U3.1: E-ATX, USB 3.1, SATA 6 GB/s
RAM: 32GB HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3200MHz X.M.P
Graphics Card: 8GB EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080 FTW GAMING - DVI, HDMI, 3x DP
Power Supply: CORSAIR 750W CS SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler
Overclocking the CPU and GPU is possible?
If yes, how can I do it and what are the risks?
I'm in green – I never overclock anything.

Are you looking for additional performance? Which type of monitor are you using? I believe it's worthwhile and simple to increase the GPU's speed, but avoid overclocking the CPU.

Do you require enhanced performance? What kind of monitor are you using? It would be beneficial to overclock the GPU, but avoid overclocking the CPU. The Benq ZOWIE XL2730 27" E-SPORTS MONITOR (144hz, 1440p) and the Benq GL2055 20" are options, and I'm aiming for better performance.

That's one heck of a computer you got there. I mean I wouldn't see the point in overclocking with that build. And is it a i7 6850k or a i7 6800k? You title says it differently.

That's a really good machine you have there. I don't see much value in pushing it further with that setup. Are you sure it's an i7 6850k or an i7 6800k? Your title seems mixed up.

Sorry, I'm just copying and pasting from my text dc. I updated it to say 6850k now.

What are you planning to do that makes you think overclocking is necessary?

I've read many discussions online and I'm curious—can this rig handle 4K at 60fps? That's probably why I'm considering an upgrade.

I believe your system should be fine with it. They designed the GTX 1080 for 4k, but if you manage it properly, it shouldn't affect performance negatively.

Check if I can manage it, or should I consider 4.2 OC for the CPU and what GPU speed is needed?

I'll check that. If I can't manage it, should I opt for 4.2 OC in the CPU and what's the GPU speed in MHz? I'm planning to try the 4.0Ghz for the CPU and will share the GTX 1080 details soon.
