GTA V Stuttering...
GTA V Stuttering...
Hello, I encountered a similar issue last year, two years prior to this. When I play GTA V, it begins stuttering after about an hour of gameplay. Initially, the game runs smoothly at 60 fps without any frame drops. However, after a short period, it slows down to 20-30 fps for a few seconds before returning to normal. I’ve followed almost every YouTube tutorial on fixing this problem.
My system details are: CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 2600, GPU – GTX 1050 TI, RAM – 8GB, Storage – TOSHIBA HDWD110.
Could someone advise me on the next steps? Is there anything I can do to resolve this without upgrading my PC, or should I consider a hardware upgrade? Thank you in advance for your help.

CPU model is AMD Ryzen 5 2600. Motherboard brand is Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. B450M DS3H-CF (AM4). RAM capacity is 8GB. Storage options include an HDD and a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU. Power supply unit information is unclear; I searched online and found it matches this build. RAIDMAX NEON LED G21-LWB is installed. Chassis details are unknown. Operating system is Windows Home 64-bit.
I mean the 1050 TI is a bit outdated but I’m familiar with people using it on 750 without noticeable lag, so I’ll try running something like msi afterburner overlay on another monitor to identify what’s consuming the most resources. If something is slowing things down, check it out. Also, when GTA V is running, open Task Manager, click more details, right-click GTA V, then click Go to Details (if grayed out, click the arrow next to GTA V and select the one with the highest usage), then right-click GTA V again in the details area and set Affinity. Make sure all cores are selected.
PSU is the power supply unit, also known as a SMPS. It's situated at the bottom of your case. To identify it, you'll need to take off the right side panel. You'll notice a box at the bottom labeled the PSU shroud, which houses the unit. And the chassis is another term for the case.
This concerns issues with GTA5 performance. I had better specifications. Every game runs smoothly without frame drops, but GTA5 is an exception. I maintain low temperatures and use a decent GPU with minimal in-game settings. When I disable VSYNC, I achieve around 200 FPS, but it fluctuates between 130-140 and then restarts. This title seems incompatible with strong hardware. I've tried various fixes to reduce stuttering, but none worked. The only solution appears to be enabling VSYNC during gameplay and possibly adjusting settings in the NVIDIA control panel.
GTX 1050Ti is upgraded to GTX 1650, offering better performance at a similar cost.
