GTA V: Opinion on its PC adaptation Will it work well on a computer?
I just wish I could achieve 60 fps at 2560x1080 on my R9 280. If not, then skipping the polish and optimization wasn’t worth it. It should perform smoothly or else I’m giving R* the one-star rating it deserves.
Be better or the cash flow to Rockstar will run out for a very long time.
it’ll be a poor PS4 adaptation. The PS3 and 360 editions were tailored specifically for those platforms, while the PS4 and Xbox One versions were built from scratch, which has proven successful over time and pushed the PC release further down the line. Remember when the Watchdogs delayed releases to refine the experience? Most titles have been pushed back simply because developers wanted to “polish” them. In the past, every new game faced delays for similar reasons.
Expect the R9-270 to run smoothly at 1080p with 80 frames per second on high settings and 750 Ti with 80 FPS on medium (70 FPS high). On ultra, it will demand about 1.2GB of VRAM from a 2GB card. Visual differences beyond that are minimal—shadows will look slightly sharper, FXAA might be added, and ultra offers marginally improved textures. The 4xMSAA at 60 FPS on Ultra will use roughly 45% of each core’s capacity, with i5, i7, and FX8 getting about 45%, 22.5%, and 22.5% respectively. A G3258 should hit around 90% performance on both cores unless overclocked. An i3 will function adequately but two cores may be heavily restricted while other threads run in the background.
You’ll need roughly 1.2GB of RAM and about 40GB of SSD space for smooth operation, as an SSD significantly enhances texture loading. Based on my testing so far, that’s all I’ve observed.
Someone might not be nice, but they'll still purchase it. Rockstar always succeeds.
I’m going to face criticism from everyone and ask for another delay. My trip is business-related for two weeks beginning on April 13th, so I’ll miss all the excitement around the launch day with friends. This is something that happens to me often. Whenever a game is released that I’d like to play (which is rare these days), I end up traveling for the launch and then just skip it once I get home.
Ive said this over and over, there is alot of evidence (in code) pointing towards PC being lead platform so it may not even be a port. If it is a port (which ill be surprised if it is) i think it will be a good port, hell it can't get any worse than 360 version, god that was horrible.
Rockstar developed its own modding utility for developers, but the impact remains uncertain. Apologies for the repeated message; it’s hard to say what it will actually achieve. Thank you for understanding.
If it does, their comment about "this fall" being a year too early was funny.
