Hey there, so I recently got GTA V and a few others during the winter sales on Steam. Most of them work just fine, but GTA V seems to have some problems. Usually it runs smoothly, giving me around 30 FPS on my R7 240. But when driving, I experience random stutters and sometimes terrain lag. I often need to pause just to let the terrain load properly or switch to a loaded chunk so other areas start loading. There’ve even been times when the terrain unloads while I’m moving between chunks. Anyone have any tips or solutions?

Too low is poor. High is excellent.

A 30 frames per second is acceptable if you didn't anticipate such a high speed.

Below 30 frames per second indicates your system is having trouble maintaining performance. As a result, you may encounter a frustrating gaming experience.

I'm not sure about the solution, but restarting helped when the issue started with too much memory usage. The right amount should be around 6 GB max.

Adjust game priority in the task manager. It functions, I'm confident.

You're thinking about moving your Athlon 5350 to a different power plan, specifically AM1. That's a common upgrade consideration for better performance or efficiency.

The issue is clear—GTA V doesn’t run well on weak CPUs. I faced the same problem with my A6-3650. If you’re looking for better options, consider Zen when it comes out, or go with an Athlon 880k or i3-6100 for a more affordable choice.

GTA V doesn't handle low-end CPUs well and struggles with insufficient video card memory. Exceeding the memory limit causes noticeable stuttering and frame drops.
