I have a Ryzen 5 3550H processor and a GTX 1650 VGA card (4GB). I experience frequent frame rate drops in GTA V, averaging 20-30 fps after playing for 2-3 minutes, then dropping to 5-7 fps every few seconds. This cycle repeats consistently, despite having 8GB of RAM and observing that lowering the VRAM usage (to 3.5 GB or 2.5 GB) reduces the frame drops when playing GTA V, but doesn’t eliminate them entirely. When running Watch Dogs 2 at ultra settings (using 4.2 GB of VRAM), I do not experience similar frame rate drops despite exceeding my card's VRAM limit. I’m puzzled by this behavior and seeking assistance to understand the issue.

A memory issue is suspected. You likely have multiple applications running concurrently. I experienced a similar problem, resolving it by upgrading from 4 to 6 GB of RAM, eliminating the lag. While the minimum requirement is 4 GB, 6 GB is necessary for optimal performance, and more is recommended at resolutions of 1080p or higher.

Grand Theft Auto V can be quite demanding on system resources if you don't have 16GB of RAM. Your hard drive or solid-state drive pagefile would be heavily utilized with 8GB of RAM. Adding another 8GB of RAM will resolve the issue.

It appears you’re experiencing a memory issue. You likely have multiple applications running simultaneously. I encountered the same problem, and resolving it by upgrading from 4 to 6 GB of RAM eliminated the lag. While the minimum requirement is 4 GB, 6 GB is necessary for proper operation, and increased amounts are recommended for resolutions of 1080p or higher.
