GTA V driving tips
Hey there! Welcome to GTA. Here are some tips to help you drive better, especially when going fast and turning. Focus on smooth acceleration, keep your speed steady, and use turns carefully to avoid crashes. Good luck!
Use a controller to improve handling. Slow down just before turning, then speed up when you're in the middle of the turn.
Usually I’d say yes, but I’ve never faced any issues using a keyboard while driving in GTA. If it affects your shooting skills, then it’s clearly not worth the trade-off. I’m not sure if it would also block your mouse and keyboard while driving, but if it does, that would be even more problematic.
On the keyboard it's quite straightforward—you can't rush corners, so slow things down. I understand your question about how much to reduce speed, and the key is knowing your vehicle's capabilities at different speeds. GTA handles cars well; you can push hard into a corner while turning, then crank the gas at the top without a high risk of losing control.
I don't just rush straight into the curve—you need to ease up because the tires can't handle too much grip. If you push too hard, it will slide or the car won't let you turn as sharply as you'd like. In either case, you won't make it around the corner unless you reduce your speed first.
Slow down more when making turns, not too hard. Handling varies between vehicles, so it really depends on the car. Use a controller only if you think it’s the best option, but even then you still need to ease on turns. GTA IV was terrible... both console and PC would spin out every time you tried a small turn. I never drove anything in that game because it was too much for me.
