Just installed GTA V today and it’s been working well, except for a couple of minor annoyances. It always launches in windowed mode, so I have to switch it to fullscreen manually each time. Also, the FPS drops sometimes—especially when using Vsync, it falls to around 30 and doesn’t stabilize at 60. It’s a bit frustrating. Anyone else experiencing this?

Look in the game's folder for a configuration file where you can adjust certain settings.

There are no .cfg files in the game folder, and I haven't located anything similar elsewhere.

I can't modify settings or run the game as an admin. Let me know if you need general assistance instead.

It occurred similarly in GTA IV as well. However, a file named commandline.txt with -fullscreen made the difference.

I also tried running it with admin rights, and it functioned properly. The FPS drop appears mainly at the start of the game, then disappears after a few minutes. It might just be a loading problem.
