GTA V
GTA V
I don’t understand why developers prioritize flashy visuals over performance, especially when a delayed release could improve optimization and aesthetics. It’s frustrating to see games like Ubisuck—overly optimized for PC but still lacking polish—compared to the polished experience of PS4 or Xbox. I’m also concerned about R* making GTAV for PC as a GTAIV remake; I hope the wait is worth it, but playing at 30fps on PS3 feels outdated now.
I haven't played GTA V on 360 or PS3. It seems to be a mix-up—those consoles don't support the game, and the PC version is likely not a port.
It's not about the reason, just trust me. The process isn't complicated. If they can launch the game on any system and it functions well, moving it to another platform shouldn't require more than a month or two. Take Bioshock Infinite as an example—it was released across all platforms simultaneously and performed flawlessly. They didn't delay by focusing on one platform before releasing everywhere.
Rockstar stands apart from Bioshock Infinite in many ways. Their main emphasis is on consoles, and I haven’t encountered a Rockstar title that launched simultaneously on both PC and console. Still, thanks to those campaigns, there’s a PC version of GTAV out there. Let’s be honest: they release games mainly because of external pressure and the popularity of their consoles. Sony and Microsoft paid them to make the PC version exclusive initially. If it performed well, their decision about a PC release wasn’t their intention. Expect little from Rockstar’s multi-platform plans—just like the harsh take on Watch Dogs, which was overhyped in 2014 and turned into a major disappointment due to poor optimization and gameplay.
The situation wasn't what it seemed. GTA 5 was initially marketed as launching on PC later than the older console release, but only to postpone its arrival. Given the significant investment in development, they seem content to earn more revenue from PC and newer platforms once the game is released. Many early buyers who waited for the original consoles are now eager to repurchase for PC or next-gen systems, essentially reusing the same audience. This approach isn't helping them at all.
I'm not sure if your wife's PC can handle medium details, but she might be able to run GTA Online with her setup.
