Have you attempted turning off the advanced graphics settings? This should resolve the issue. Performance outside the city will be lower than inside, but frame rates will remain stable and won’t crash excessively.

SLI Bits 0x080040F5 (Far Cry 4 & RYSE) performs better on my machine though it isn't flawless. Let me know if it meets your needs! Also, feel free to check out my ReShade preset here: http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/3457/ It maintains color accuracy, reduces fog, enhances clarity, and adds a bit more bloom.

SLI Bits 0x080040F5 (Far Cry 4 & RYSE) performs better on my machine though it isn't flawless. Let me know if it meets your needs! You're experiencing modest SLI results with your two GTX 980s, averaging 50-70% performance. While the game performs reasonably well, it's not exceptional. I'd recommend holding off on upgrading until a future patch improves the setup.
