I simply reinstalled Windows 8.1 to make Far Cry 4 function, and it works now. However, GTA no longer launches properly. It used to work flawlessly before. Now I encounter issues every time I try to open it. I've updated C++ 2005 and reinstalled GFW, but that didn’t help.

No, I didn't do that. Let me know if you need help with anything else.

Uninstall the version from 2005, then navigate to the GTA IV installation folder for redist and reinstall it from 2005.

Would you like to reboot the system? It often resolves issues when errors appear.

The classic approach. Opting for crack instead of facing the issue directly.

I have contacted Rockstar support, hopefully won't end up like ubisoft support and end up figuring it out myself over a course of a few weeks. And I've beaten the game too many times to focus on the single player, but if theres a crack that allows multiplayer then count me in.

Update GTA IV to version 1.0.7.0. It doesn’t include RGSC, but it functions after installing the patch on an 8.1 system. Thanks!

The steam version includes rgsc 1.0.7.0 and even 1.0.4.0 supports it.
