Hey everyone. The issue is here: I have a decent PC (i5 9400f, 16GB OZO 3200, solid latency, around 2060s). I recently tried playing GTA 5 for roleplay and kept experiencing strange stutters. After some advice from friends, I lowered all the graphics settings, but it still didn’t help much—especially when playing full HD at a 5:4 aspect ratio.

I’m using this setup to test my FPS monitor software. Normally I see around 160-180 FPS, but it drops to 80-110 whenever one of the cores hits 100% load and then instantly goes back down. It happens even when all cores are at full capacity.

On another note, I play PUBG without any stutters and CSGO consistently at 280-400 FPS with no freezes. My other single-player games run fine too.

Temperature-wise, even with all cores at 100%, they never reach 60°C—my air cooler is doing a decent job.

I managed to fix it by turning on VSYNC, but I’m not really interested in hitting 144 FPS. The main question is: why does GTA 5 sometimes force one core to run at full speed while the others slow down?

CPU: Motherboard: [Insert model]
Ram: [Insert amount]
SSD/HDD: [Insert type]
GPU: [Insert model]
PSU: [Insert model]
OS: [Insert operating system]

Make sure your motherboard is running the latest BIOS. If you're unsure about software issues, try using other tools to verify your findings. It's also a good idea to use DDU to remove your current GPU drivers and install the newest ones from Nvidia's support site.

Determine the exact revision of your motherboard—whether it's 1.0 or 1.1—and update its BIOS to the most recent version.
Load the game onto the M.2 SSD and verify it with the Corsair Tool Box, updating the firmware if needed.
Use the ddu Uninstaller to fully remove all graphics drivers and install the latest NVIDIA driver.

Here’s what you should do:
1. Get the latest BIOS updates and install them.
2. Use the Corsair Toolbox to check your SSD.
3. Instead of relying on DDU Unistaller, I’ll reinstall Windows and completely wipe the SSD—probably because it’s losing space over time.
4. Give it another try.

After all the adjustments, I gave my GPU a bit more power using MSI Afterburner and got the next results. The data from the test looks different compared to the previous one. I also noticed some stuttering when I opened Google Chrome or another browser. If I turn it off, the stutters don’t completely disappear, but their intensity is gradually reducing.
