I'm not showing distress since I haven't even repositioned them yet, but the chances of recovering bad RAM seem extremely slim. Initially, I enabled XMP II and ran all tests in memtest86+, which produced errors. After switching to XMP I, I performed another extended session and still encountered the same issues. Any suggestions on possible fixes? My CPU isn't overclocked—only standard Intel boosts are active. The system enforces normal power limits with no MCE or similar settings. Could the memory controller or motherboard be the issue? On both tests, the error was detected in the core 8 module. It might not be my CPU after all; perhaps I should attempt a detuning and see if it resolves the problem?

You might ease the RAM a bit more, using 3000MHz instead of 3200 or adjusting the voltage to 14-14-14-34 instead of 15-15-15-35. I'm testing my 3600MHz RAM at 3500.

Before touching the RAM again, I reset the BIOS to its default settings and only made a few basic adjustments. I skipped the usual deep changes like CPU tweaks. I turned on Wake On LAN, adjusted fan speeds, turned off motherboard lights, and activated XMP II. I didn’t do anything else. This should help isolate the RAM issue, and it should work with both XMP 1 and 2 profiles. After a full night of memtest86+, all tests passed without errors. This suggests my problem wasn’t the RAM itself—it was probably another BIOS setting affecting the CPU/memory controller under stress.

My takeaway is clear: always run stability checks after any configuration change. People often tweak BIOS settings, play games, and move on without realizing they have powerful tools at their disposal. I’ve made this mistake before too, but I’ll be more careful next time. I’m planning to do a full BIOS update followed by an all-night memtest session.

No need to tweak anything further since everything else is already optimized. It seems related to these recent changes.
