Hello! I completed my build and might have caused some trouble. To be clear, I’m not an expert, but I aimed to create a future-proof workstation for modeling, bioinformatics, and gaming. Here’s what I have: -ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha -AMD Threadripper 3970x -2xMSI RTX 3090 Suprim X -G.Skill 256GB (8x32GB) kit 3600 Now, I noticed the Threadripper 3970x reaches its maximum at 3200Mhz memory, while only the 3990x supports 3600Mhz. Since I bought the 3600Mhz kit, I worry my performance might drop because of higher CL numbers, compared to using the 3200Mhz version. After calculating, I see that even at 3200Mhz, the latency will be worse due to the larger CL values. My question is: can I improve performance and reduce latency? Should I lower the CL numbers or run the RAM at 3600Mhz? Is it possible to fine-tune these components to match the 3200Mhz setup or achieve better results? Any suggestions like using an infinity fabric or a DRAM calculator would be great! Thanks a lot!

Using the 3600 kit allows manual adjustment to 3200 settings.

The various results might not be an issue. You can adjust the settings to boost performance.

In theory, when both kits originate from the same maker, the 3200 model could actually be a 3600 version that was not released for the 3600 line.
