GRUB persists even after deleting Linux volume devices.
Hi there, I tried deleting everything related to Linux on my system. The usual method in Disk Management worked for Ubuntu, but the GRUB installation wasn’t fully removed. I attached screenshots of the partitions. Someone suggested using "bootrec.exe /fixmbr" with a recovery USB, but it reported some action without confirming success. Now I’m still stuck and unsure if it’s possible to completely erase it. I’m just curious about the process. Have a great day! Spoiler: It’s doable.
Use bootrec for repairs, but fixmbr alone isn't sufficient. Perform a fixboot on the optimal booting partition. For more details, refer to this guide: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/927392
It seems you're suggesting a repair step using bootrec/bcdboot.
