I have a GTX 1080 and an R5 2600x running at 1080p with Ultra settings. I notice my VRAM is nearly full, around 6GB, and the game claims it needs 4GB but I'm well beyond that. Does this occur with new releases that haven't been updated yet? I'm using MSI Afterburner.

The greater your configuration, the more VRAM it requires. A minimum of 4gb is suggested for smooth performance, though it won't be the highest usage. BO4 would use more than 8gb upon launch.

It's surprising to hear that. Most things work in the game, but this is the first one that needed more than 6GB on my 2-year-old GTX 1080.

Yeah, no problem. I understand the 1070 with COD:BO4 could lead to in-game stutters since it might exhaust VRAM. Unless you disable it, everything should be okay.
