Borderlands 2 and its expansions make for a great package. It combines loot shooter gameplay with RPG elements across three titles. The humor in the game is excellent.

Based on my experience with over 2000 hours in TF2, I wouldn't recommend it because the community is shrinking and it has a steep learning curve. It isn't very welcoming for newcomers. Still, it remains enjoyable for those who are committed to spending time on it.
