I owned an old Lenovo desktop with a failing motherboard. Over time, I observed that my Alienware Area 51 R2 had five free drive bays. I transferred my existing drives from the Lenovo machine into the Alienware system. The collection included a variety of drives—ranging from a large 2TB without an OS to a 120GB drive labeled 840 EVO, paired with Windows 10 850 EVO and Ubuntu. The original factory drive in the Alienware was a 2TB Windows 10 installation. When booting in UEFI mode, the Windows boot manager ignores the new drives and jumps straight to the factory drive. Using Legacy mode allows dual booting both Ubuntu and Windows 10. However, the factory Windows installation doesn’t appear in the Ubuntu boot menu. What should I do? I never faced this issue on my Lenovo machine. I could switch between Ubuntu and Windows continuously. Can a system really support more than one Windows 10 installation simultaneously? My younger brother and I share this computer, so maintaining both OS versions is essential.
