Grand Theft Auto Online experiencing reduced frame rates on a 1080p display with dual graphics cards.
Greetings. My display is a 144Hz 1080p monitor, and I’m experiencing difficulty achieving frame rates of 144 frames per second in Grand Theft Auto Online. While I consistently maintain between 130 and 150 fps in single-player campaigns, my online gameplay produces frame rates of 80 to 100 fps across all graphical configurations. I’ve experimented with altering visual settings, but these adjustments have not boosted my online frame rates. My processor usage consistently remains below 70%, and I believe it’s not limiting my graphics card performance. Could you advise me on steps I can take to attain 144fps in online mode?
Here are my system specifications:
Intel Core i9-9900K
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 (SLI configuration)
32GB of DDR4 memory
Asus Maximus XI Code Z390 motherboard
1200W power supply
What is the power supply and model you are using? Have you installed the most recent firmware update for your motherboard? Did you attempt to remove and re-install the graphics card drivers using the newest versions available from Nvidia's support website? Does this problem happen only when playing Grand Theft Auto 5?
The GeForce GTX 1080 with SLI appears to perform optimally at resolutions of 2K or higher, and its multi-GPU capabilities are not effectively leveraged at lower display settings.
