GPU won’t post
Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out some persistent problems with my PC. My Intel B580 GPU isn't showing up on my Aorus A520 Elite (rev1.1) MB, and it's been acting up a lot. When I connect the GPU to the first PCIe slot, nothing works. But if I remove the HDMI cable and plug it into the motherboard, it functions normally with integrated graphics. Switching to the second PCIe slot only shows it for certain reasons, like with the integrated GPU. After updating to BIOS version F21, the issue didn't improve. I've also tried inserting an old backup card in the first slot just to be sure, but it still doesn't work. I've checked if the problem is in the drivers, but it persists. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Review the bios settings to determine if a manual adjustment is required for the primary graphics adapter.
Tell me the graphics card's brand and model, the CPU paired with the A520 board, and confirm the power connector type for the Arc B580.
I'm not entirely confident, but it seems to be an old sapphire card and a Ryzen 7 5700 G with a cool profile picture.
Can you access the BIOS menu through integrated graphics? Verify the motherboard is powered on via BIOS F21. If the previous component fails, repeat the same check for the Intel B580. Examine the PCI-E X16 slot for any signs of damage to pins or gold contacts. Please send a zoomed image of the slot if possible.
Thanks in advance. The initial step I attempted was updating the BIOS, and then I plan to check it over.
I believe the third pin might be broken, though I'm not entirely confident.
It seems the setup isn’t quite right. The PIN #3 is meant for a 12V power supply, which suggests the card isn’t being recognized as a video card. The board thinks the graphics chip isn’t present, even though the pin appears to be there—it might be misaligned or damaged. You might want to either fix it yourself or purchase a new motherboard.
