Good Afternoon,
I'm trying to address a problem with my system performance. It's running smoothly at 50-60fps in New World at 1440p with ultra settings, but struggles to maintain over 100fps in Shadow of War at the same resolution and settings.
My GPU readings on NZXT CAM, MSI Afterburner, and Aorus Engine are normal when no game is running—showing low usage, low temperature, and a clock speed around 1750Mhz.
However, when a game is active, the GPU reports near full usage (99/100%), but with a much lower clock speed (400-800MHz).
The CPU, RAM, and other components appear normal during gameplay.
Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Have you attempted a fresh installation of the Nvidia GPU drivers? You can use DDU if you prefer, though it's not required. Give it a shot. If the issue continues, there might be another problem on your system, whether software-related or hardware-based.

I’ll try that right away once I’m back. I should have considered it earlier. Just put the 3090 back into the rig this week after using the 1080ti—it might be related.

I agree with the previous comment, if possible, update or reinstall the GPU bios. I’m using AMD and I just updated the GPU bios via the website. It’s likely NVIDIA has a similar option as well?
If any of this doesn’t work, just perform a clean install of Windows, and if it still fails, contact the RMA 😂
