Hey everyone, I'm feeling really frustrated. I switched from a GTX 1060 with 3GB RAM to the RX 6600, but something went wrong. After trying to fix it in safe mode and reinstalling drivers, the speakers on both sides are barely producing sound—even at full volume, it's much quieter than before. I followed all the steps: updated drivers from the manufacturer, did a clean Windows install, reinstalled the GPU, and even tried different driver versions online. But now I can't use the HDMI AMD output because my monitor doesn’t have any speakers. I'm stuck and need advice. My setup includes an Intel Core i3-9100F, MSI H310M PRO-VHD, XFX Swift 210, RX 6600, 480GB SSD, and a WD Blue 1TB HDD. Any suggestions?
It's quite unusual. Although I don't know the reason behind it, I have a solution for you. I had the opposite issue with my gaming laptop, where the sound was always too loud through headphones. By lowering the volume specifically for headphones by several decibels using Equalizer APO, the volume control became functional again. The program also allows increasing the volume. I need to check if your display has an audio port. If you're using a different speaker setup, it should link to the motherboard rather than the board itself. Graphics cards typically require their own drivers—my laptop had a GTX 1660 Ti, I own a monitor and a separate speaker, with the cable going to the monitor instead of the laptop. Since you're using HDMI for your display, the audio goes through that too. On my PC with an RX 6800 XT, I'm connecting the cable to the monitor as well because I want to use AMD drivers instead of the board's. If your screen has an audio jack, try plugging the speaker cable into the monitor. Then adjust the audio settings on your PC, choosing the one named after your display. In my case, the monitor's output sounds clearer and stronger than the board's.
It seems you checked out the 2.82 driver version. You might want to inspect the front panel connector on the motherboard and disable Windows' automatic driver setup. Try running DDU in safe mode, select audio settings, and once the PC restarts, install the 2.82 driver. This has resolved the low volume issue many times before.
The setup is mainly an HP 22es monitor, but it lacks a 3.5mm port for audio. I understand AMD audio options are better, so I plan to switch to another monitor later. Currently, I use the MoBo audio output because I have headphones on the front and speakers in the back. After the change, it sounded quite loud, which was funny.

Nothing special happened. On DDU there’s an option to remove any GPU audio driver. I did that, then unplugged the Ethernet cable—this automatically installed the driver for the RX 6600 even though automatic installation was turned off. Make sure the AMD HD Audio module wasn’t present before installing the Realtek driver. I tried two different drivers (the one you sent and the one MSI offers for the board), but neither worked. Concerning the front panel, it sounds almost identical to the rear panel connectors, which is fine.
