GPU temperature is unusually high without any apparent reason.
Typically idle temps hover around 32-33°C, but lately they’ve risen to 40°C even in cold rooms. I’ve been adjusting my NVIDIA drivers, but it hasn’t helped. A new headset forced me to install Realtek audio drivers, though I’m unsure how that ties into the temperature changes. Deleting the app “lively wallpaper” only slightly lowered idle temps, still higher than before. My GPU usage is minimal—about 0-4% at idle—and I have an RTX 3070. If this is the issue, a small temperature increase of a degree or two would be expected.
Idle temperature has little impact unless it deviates from the acceptable range, which usually signals a cooler issue—something you'd notice with AIO or water systems. Otherwise, it's not a big concern unless temperatures rise unexpectedly.
I'm not overly concerned. I just need to understand what's going on.
Idle periods are influenced by various factors, particularly when fans aren't operating. If a heat source is completely passive and you release some air in its direction, it might lower the temperature slightly. Regarding component performance: avoid being overly optimistic or overly cautious like Ping Boy or 286 guy.
Everything seems fine. As long as the card or PC functions properly and temperatures stay within limits, it's all good. Those 7C cases are hard to describe. Someone could rework if you're really worried.
