GPU stops working during games after overclocking the CPU.
Hi Guys!
Just completed my latest Ryzen configuration. I utilized the MSI Game Boost option to boost core clock speeds from 3.6 to 4.1 Ghz. I ran several games to check CPU temperatures and everything seemed normal – peak temps stayed under 60 degrees.
But when I started playing AC Odyssey, I lost connection to the monitor right after launching the game. The CPU was running but the monitor didn’t receive a signal. After restarting the PC, the connection was restored. I tried booting AC again and the same problem happened, with the GPU shutting down. The CPU was powered on and all components were active except the GPU.
I noted that I could play AC before enabling Game Boost. I turned it off and the issue disappeared. I played AC for a few hours without any trouble. It seems the problem might relate to the power supply unit, possibly because the GPU is losing power when all six cores are active. I’m not very experienced with overclocking, so I’m not entirely sure. I only tested the Game Boost BIOS feature.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
By the way, here are my PC specifications:
