Hi, my GTX 1080 TI ROG STRIX is quite powerful for some games, but it can be too much for others. I mainly play CS:GO competitively and enjoy using the popular "stretched" resolution. However, my GPU sometimes refuses it, pulling me out of the game. It usually works after a restart, but this is frustrating. I've tried various fixes—like adjusting settings in the NVIDIA control panel and changing options—but nothing seems to help. The only solution that often works is reverting back to the standard 1080p setting. I just want to maintain my competitive edge without major sacrifices. In short, the game tends to shrink itself when I try higher resolutions. PS: This issue also appears in other titles, especially when a black screen is triggered by certain graphics changes.

Yes, I'm using a fullscreen or borderless windowed setup.

The problem is clear. Popups are appearing, and because the game and desktop have different resolutions, they get minimized when a popup opens. Consider these choices: borderless windowed mode, turning off all popups, or using third-party tools to keep the game window in focus.
