Hello, I've set up the following system: ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS with AMD B550 AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Sapphire Radeon PULSE RX 5700 XT, 8G RAM, 8GB GDDR6, Patriot VIPER Steel 16GB (2x8GB), DDR4 3000 power supply, and EVGA SuperNOVA 750W. About a month ago my monitor lost signal. After some time I noticed it reacted when I swapped RAM slots, then it worked again after changing them. Now it happens again about a month later. Everything seems normal until I swap RAM, then it restarts. What might be causing this? Could the voltage between RAM and the motherboard play a role? How can I better identify the problem? I don’t want to replace the whole board just in case it happens again soon. Please help me understand this better. Thanks in advance. (I hope my topic is clear and placed correctly. I’m new here)
Are you running the newest BIOS? It might be a mix-up between old and 5600X... Alternatively, the RAM could be the issue, or there might be some strange behavior from AMD. I've seen cases where RAM didn't support XMP 3600 in certain slots but worked in others, or vice versa.
Thank you for very quick reply. I am actually using Bios version from 22/10/2020 . I am slightly afraid of updating it, because I have never done it, but I may eventually gather enough courage to do it. Its a good tip. Also I changed DRAM voltage from 1.2V (auto) to 1.35V. The worst thing about this is that the problem is not consistent
