I’m finding it really tough to diagnose what’s going wrong with your PC. It functions perfectly with a GTX 970, yet it fails with a RTX 3060ti and RTX 3070 despite a solid power supply and normal temperatures. Even after replacing nearly all components, the crashes continue across various games—sometimes lasting an hour, other times just a few minutes. There are also frame stutters and occasional startup/shutdown problems. I’ve been running at 1080p 144Hz for two years with the GTX 970, which previously worked well even though it would hang during shutdowns. I thought the RTX 3060ti was faulty, so I returned it, but a used RTX 3070 from CeX had the same issues and I also returned that one. Recently I’ve switched back to the GTX 970, which is now stable.

In addition to crashes, I’ve noticed startup and shutdown glitches. Sometimes the CPU light appears but the system boots; other times it hangs during power cycles. The 970 had similar light issues after switching to the RTX 3060ti, but they seem resolved now. Crashes occur in all my games—Cyberpunk 2077, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista2, rFactor2, Beam.ng, Chernobylite, and even when using Heaven benchmark.

I’ve tried several fixes: updated GPU drivers via DDU, reinstalled Windows to a new M.2 drive, used two separate power cables, flashed the BIOS, cleared CMOS, reinstalled chipset drivers, bought a new PSU, replaced the motherboard, updated RAM individually, tested with XMP profiles, ran a power tester at home, and even had it checked by a specialist. Each time I thought I’d resolved it, but the problem persisted.

I’ve also experimented with RAM—testing each stick separately, using different profiles, and even running Memtest86+. The results were mixed: some errors appeared, others didn’t, and the system would still crash on individual sticks. I’ve read that errors don’t always point to bad RAM, and since each stick behaves independently, it’s unlikely four were faulty.

Current specs: MSI MPG Sekira 100R case, AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU (formerly 3600), Hyper 212 RGB Black motherboard, various RAM modules, and a range of power supplies. I’m at a loss and am considering replacing the GPU soon, though I doubt it will fix the issue. I suspect a power draw problem, as the failing cards seem more demanding than my PSU can handle. The 750W unit should suffice, but I need guidance on next steps.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It seems like your message is quite unclear. Could you rephrase what you're asking? I'm trying to understand your concerns about the issue and whether it might be related to hardware, software, or human error. Let me know so I can help better.

Open Event Viewer, search for Windows logs, apply filters for errors and critical issues, arrange results by time. Share the findings.

I'll verify their presence. I ran a second clean Windows installation, and I believe the 3070 issue remains unresolved.

Yes, removed old drivers using DDU and performed a clean installation each time I changed cards.

They evaluated the entire system. I believe they were fortunate since I've used it before and it also failed there. Components have been inserted and removed many times, so reconnecting doesn’t seem to be due to a loose wire or poor fit. My main concerns are power issues—possibly not enough or a faulty PSU—or maybe the RAM? Even though all four sticks crashed when using the 3070, it’s possible none of them have completely failed. They also work well with the 970 model.

Good luck, buddy! Hope this doesn’t stress you out too much—it can be tough fixing things.
