Computer Build GPU: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12GB CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Motherboard : ASUS Prime X670-P RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 64GB PSU: Corsair HX1000 (1000w) Windows 11 64bit Display: Samsung G5 3440x1440
Hello, I assembled a system that has performed well over the last few months. Now I notice unusual graphical glitches on screen. For instance, you’ll see erratic green pixels flashing. This isn’t confined to Destiny 2—it appears in any 3D game using DX11 or DX12. I’ve been using UE5 without issues, but I’m getting a D3D error that blocks launching it (UE4 works too). I haven’t altered anything since setup; no overclocking, no changes to settings, just gaming.

GPU monitoring shows normal operation and temperatures. No unusual sounds either—everything runs smoothly.

UE5 Crash Report: Fatal error: [FileBig Grin:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\D3D12Util.cpp] [Line: 868]
CurrentQueue.Device->GetDevice()->GetDeviceRemovedReason() failed at D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\D3D12Submission.cpp:910 with error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

UnrealEditor_D3D12RHI encountered issues during launch.

I’ve tried several fixes so far:
- Reinstalled drivers (safe mode)
- Verified all connections and re-mounted the card
- Swapped PSU and power supply (thought it might help, it didn’t)
- Adjusted settings in Nvidia Control Panel (power, 3D, graphics, defaults)
- Reduced voltage slightly (helped marginally)
- Tested with another GPU—GTX 1080 worked fine
- Changed game rendering back to DX11 instead of DX12 (no difference)
- Removed MSI Afterburner and monitoring tools (none installed before)
- Ran malware scans—clean results
- Updated BIOS, drivers, DirectX 12, MS C+
- Used older drivers without modification

Screenshots: Afterburner during idle, in-game, and Task Manager spikes.

Despite weeks of troubleshooting, I still face D3D errors in certain titles. My main suspicion is the GPU is drawing excessive power, but I can’t pinpoint the cause or timing. The problem seems to emerge only after leaving the PC on for extended periods.

I’m considering returning the 4070 Ti for repair, but I hope someone can help resolve this. Thank you in advance!
Cheers.

Likely a VRAM issue, consider returning the device. You've already tried standard troubleshooting steps.
