GPU overheating issue with XFX RX 590 Fatboy
Hello, your GPU appears to be overheating after gaming sessions. The fans are likely spinning fast, and you can't use the audio input until you restart the device. It seems the issue might be related to the graphics card overheating. Let me know if you need further assistance or troubleshooting steps.
You can use hardwaremonitor or Rivatuner to track temperatures. Usually, the system would try to reduce performance rather than stop video entirely. Sounds like it might be malfunctioning. Do you have another PC available for testing the GPU?
I checked the monitoring setup using open hardware monitor and attached the log. From the data, it doesn’t appear the graphics are overheating—it never went above 77 degrees, not even on VRAM. I suspect the problem can be reproduced by running Warframe in Plains of Eidolon, waiting about 30 seconds for the frame rate to settle, and using Archwing mode. I don’t have it right now, but I remember having this card in a past rig and experiencing the same issue then. The log file is OpenHardwareMonitorLog-2023-06-25.csv.
Does certainly seem like an issue with the card then indeed. Temp is no issue, 77 degrees is fine. You could try to downclock / turn down the power limit a bit with MSI Afterburner. If you're lucky it might get just below the edge of crashing.
