I was gaming Watch_dogs when all my displays froze, displaying a discolored checkerboard across every screen linked to the dedicated GPU. The remaining PC functions normally, allowing me to chat on Discord. I had to perform a hard reset, yet Windows appeared corrupted and displayed a blue screen (critical_process_died error). A clean Windows 10 installation succeeded, but the dedicated GPU remained absent from Device Manager, external monitors, and game performance. It showed up in software like OCCT, but I couldn’t launch anything. The Nvidia control panel auto-installed, yet it never launched beyond the initial usage message. Also, the Nvidia control panel was installed automatically, yet it failed to start after the initial terms popup. I downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia drivers without issues, yet the dedicated GPU still didn’t appear in Task Manager or games. Benchmarks showed it, but no software could launch it. The driver installation was automatic, but it never launched beyond setup.
That GPU seems to be in bad shape. You’ll need to inspect it, but it looks like the Legion model doesn’t support swapping a replacement GPU.
